This month’s Archival Release features an award-winning coffee from the inaugural year of the Copa de Oro: a competition designed to identify and recognize the highest quality coffees produced throughout the region of Huila, Colombia , each year.

This particular selection comes from the 2022 harvest of producer Juan Jiménez, whose entry earned him fourth place in the Southern regional category of the competition. By 2022, the popularity and prevalence of the pink bourbon variety had had fully set in, and Sr. Jiménez’s coffee was one of 12 different pink bourbon entries to win an award that year. In the following year’s competition, he would cement his place as one of the finest producers in Huila with a first place overall win in the Southern regional category.
